Castle Gardens Troja

The romantic Baroque chateau of Troja is located by a lovely bend in the Vltava River, surrounded by lovely gardens and an old vineyard.

The early Baroque Chateau was built in 1679. This venue is a grandiose 17th century affair, complete with French gardens, Baroque sculptures, splendid vaulted ceilings and a wonderfully detailed mural in its Grand Hall. Maintained by the National Gallery, it shows a permanent exposition from its collections here - Czech painting of the 19th century - which is continuously complemented with temporary exhibitions.
